Erasmus+ information day in the field of higher education has been held

Today, the central Erasmus+ Info Day in the field of higher education was held at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro, organized by the National Erasmus+ Office and the University of Montenegro.

In the opening part of the event, the attendees were addressed by Vanja Drljević (Head of National Erasmus+ Office), Filip Petović (Rectorate of the University of Montenegro), Vasilije Turković (Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation), and Liselotte Isaksson (Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro).

The main topics of the event included an overview of the results of Montenegrin participation in the Erasmus+ 2025 call, as well as a presentation of new features within the Erasmus+ call for 2026. These covered International Credit Mobility (ICM), Virtual Exchanges and Erasmus Mundus, Capacity Building, and Jean Monnet actions. Practical advice for preparing successful project proposals was presented by Vanja Drljević, Ljiljana Gogić, and Rina Muhaj from the National Erasmus+ Office, along with examples of new CBHE projects approved in 2025 and a presentation of the Erasmus+ networks Eurydice and YouthWiki, coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro.

“What is most important, and what is actually the result we always talk about and the greatest success for Montenegro are the results related to Capacity building in higher education, where Montenegro has been awarded nine projects in which it participates, two of which are coordinated by Montenegrin institutions. In the remaining seven, Montenegro participates as a partner. What is particularly significant is that we have two coordinating institutions. One project is coordinated by the University of Montenegro, and the other, of exceptional importance, as it is participating in the Erasmus+ programme for the first time as a coordinator is the Faculty for Montenegrin Language and Literature,” emphasized Vanja Drljević, Haed of the National Erasmus+ Office.

“The Erasmus+ capacity building in higher education for 2026 introduces a novelty regarding the maximum number of project proposals that institutions from the academic community can submit to the call in the role of coordinator”, highlighted Filip Petrović, Project Management Associate at the Project Office of the University of Montenegro.

The representative of the EU Delegation, Liselotte Isaksson, emphasized that in challenging times marked by pressures and restrictions on academic freedoms worldwide, the importance of the Erasmus+ programme is further increasing. As she noted, the programme provides universities with stable support for their development, strengthening international ties, enhancing the resilience of the academic community, and safeguarding fundamental academic values.

“Montenegro has shown that it wants to be and can be an active partner, and the achieved results confirm the commitment of our institutions and individuals. The new Erasmus+ particularly emphasizes innovative learning methods, the development of key competencies, and the strengthening of partnerships, which is important for the modernization of our education. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity and be ambitious in creating projects that can bring lasting change,” emphasized Vasilije Turković on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro.
