An event “Europe Month at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro: Spreading European values through Jean Monnet Projects” was held today at the premises of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro, Nikšić. The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro and the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro.
This event was the third in a series of events within the Europe Month through the Erasmus+ programme, which is celebrated, in cooperation with partners, through various activities of the National Erasmus+ Office. Within welcome speech, the attendees were addressed by prof. Igor Lakić, Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro; Filip Petrović, Office for Projects of the Rectorate building of the University of Montenegro; Vanja Drljević, Head of the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro; Liselotte Isaksson, Deputy Head of the Cooperation unit of the EU Delegation to Montenegro and Jelena Samardžić Kotri, Head of the Directorate for the preparation of the Montenegrin version of the EU acquis of the Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro. Their speeches and perspectives provided an insight into the importance of this programme and its role.
Jean Monnet action within the Erasmus+ program is an initiative which promotes study, research and debate on European issues. The event brought together Jean Monnet coordinators of the projects implemented in Montenegro, as well as Jean Monnet EMIMI module attendees, who provided the professors and students with the opportunity to learn about Jean Monnet key ideas and legacy. Through the panel discussion, the participants gained a deeper understanding of EU integration and the impact of Jean Monnet projects on the process of fostering european values. This event also provided a platform for exchange of ideas and an opportunity to network among the academic community.
