Today, an online TAM follow-up meeting was organized after HERE seminar entitled “Closing the skills gaps in higher education” which was organized on April 14-15, 2025 at the initiative of the Montenegrin Higher Education Reform Experts, in cooperation with the SPHERE network, consisting of OBREAL Global (coordinator), the European University Association (EUA), and the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro. The guest lecturer in this seminar was prof. Christina Theodoraki, full professor (HDR1) in Entrepreneurship (IAE Aix-Marseille).
The aim of the follow-up activity was to acquaint the academic community with the conclusions of the seminar and to prepare specific recommendations for further work, so that the outcomes and results of the mentioned HERE seminar are sustainable. The meeting was attended by relevant representatives of the academic community, as well as members of the HERE team.
After the introduction speech of Mrs. Vanja Drljević, Head of the National Erasmus+ office in Montenegro, who explained to the attendees the importance of organizing this type of activity, which, as already mentioned, aims to enable the sustainability of the results and outcomes of the HERE seminar, the participants were addressed by prof. Mira Vukčević from the University of Montenegro, HERE team president and initiator of the seminar, who emphasized the importance of the topic.
Prof. Biljana Šćepanović from the University of Montenegro, a member of the HERE team, spoke about the key conclusions of the seminar. As for the next steps regarding this topic, prof. Dijana Kovačević from the University of Donja Gorica and prof. Tatijana Dlabač from the University of Montenegro, also a HERE team member, provided their insights.
It was concluded that it was necessary for the wider academic community to get involved in this topic, but what is essential is the need for active collaboration between universities, the business sector, and policymakers in order to overcome such a challenge.
