The aim of this project is advancement of the foreign language studies in the region, by focusing on critical comparison of two academic practices and on regional implementation of the best European foreign language study models. The project will harmonize the foreign language studies in the region, promote cooperation in the region, enabling easy mobility of students, teachers, and ideas in general, and promote the region’s international academic credibility by:
- modernization of the existing literature and cultural studies at the partner universities
- development of MA studies in Translation and Interpretation at the partner universities
- development of Foreign language for specific purposes modules at partner institutions
- upgrading of facilities and teaching methodologies to support the development of SEEPALS.
SEEPALS resonates with the ongoing focus and mission of the larger Tempus project by helping promotion of the regional voluntary convergence with EU developments in the field of higher education, and meeting both national and regional priorities of the partner countries. It is attentive to the regional needs regarding it approaching accession in the EU, and will offer good teachers of foreign languages, expert translators, as well as vocational and lifelong alternatives to students of all the ages and groups.
