HERE seminar ‘Flexibilization of learning and micro-credentials in higher education: Role of universities, policy makers, business sector’ held

In the premises of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro, a two-day HERE seminar was held under the title ‘Flexibilization of learning and micro-qualifications in higher education – the role of universities, policy makers, business sector’ – which was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office, at the initiative of the Higher Education Reform Experts Team (HERE).

The guest lecturer in the seminar was prof. Bernold Hasenknopf, Senior Advisor for European Commitment – President’s Office, Sorbonne Université, who spoke about micro-qualifications in higher education with an emphasis on their importance, as well as the regulation of their evaluation and quality in an academic context. The aim of this seminar was to deepen the understanding of micro-qualifications in higher education and to strengthen cooperation between universities, policy makers and the business sector so that micro-qualifications are recognized as a valid and quality form of education and competence development.

During the seminar, two panel discussions were held with domestic stakeholders. On the first day, a panel discussion was held on the topic ‘Stakeholders roles in MC ecosystem: challenges and opportunities in Montenegro’. The participants were representatives of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Montenegrin Employers Federation, the Center for Vocational Education of Montenegro, as well as representatives of the University of Montenegro and Mediterranean University.

On the second day of this seminar, a panel discussion was held on the topic ‘National contributions of policy makers and accreditation agency’ and was attended by representatives of relevant institutions, including the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro as well as ACQAHE (Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education) as well as members of the HERE team.
